Elmadag

Located in central northwest of Turkey, just 23 km away from Ankara, Elmadag ski resort is a small ski destination suitable for beginners and is easily accessible from the country’s capital city. If you are staying in Istanbul, it is a 4-hour drive to the resort.During the weekends a common view are groups of university students from Ankara who come at Elmadag to spend a nice ski vacation.

Lying on the northern slopes of the Elmadag mountain range at an altitude of 1 850 meters, Elmadag Ski Center offers an exciting break from the city. The region is treeless and covered with alpine meadows. There are ski instructors available to teach skiing and snowboarding at Elmadag ski resort and there are ski rentals as well. Accommodation options are not many but still there is a good hotel and a number of university lodges. The ski season at Elmadağ ski resort runs from December to April but the best time is January through March when snow conditions are most suitable.
